Neil Liebowitz, MD
Dr. Neil Liebowitz completed his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia receiving admission to Phi Beta Kappa. His medical degree was earned at Stony Brook University with psychiatry electives at Columbia University. After completing his psychiatry residency training at Yale University, he joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut engaging in a wide range of clinical, research and teaching activities. After six years in a full-time academic setting, he chose to focus on clinical care by founding the Connecticut Anxiety and Depression Treatment Center which he ran for 28 years until retiring. In his retirement he has dedicated his work to providing psychiatric consultations for primary care clinicians. He enjoys providing solutions for patients using many of the lessons he learned in over 40 years of medical practice. He wrote about these strategies in his memoir: Psychiatry in Techno Colors: A psychiatrist’s memoir of lessons learned. After moving to the Boston area to be near his grandchildren, he proudly joined the Holtzman Medical group allowing him to continue to help people with mental health challenges.
